Events in Kenya since the 1980s
Tarpo has been building events in Kenya for four decades — rallies, retreats, weddings, markets, safari camps and film crews. We are part of Tarpo Industries, a Nairobi family business founded in 1975, which is where the equipment and the standards come from.
How we work
Planned, built and run by one team
We plan it
Four decades of events means we can read a site, a schedule and a guest list before anything goes wrong.
We build it
Our own crew and our own equipment, from Nairobi gardens to camps deep in Turkana and Tsavo.
We run it
We stay on site to look after guests and equipment, then strike the camp and leave the site as we found it.
Where we work
We have worked in 44 of Kenya’s 47 counties
Four decades of camps and events have taken us almost everywhere in the country — only Garissa, Wajir and Mandera are still on the list. These are the regions we work in most often, and we travel further when the site calls for it.

Our work
Rhino Charge
Camps for more than 15 teams and sponsors, plus the organisers’ medical, security, logistics and officials’ camps, and logistical support for the whole event. Almost 400 beds in use and over 6,000 meals served, every year.
Wild Soul Safari Retreats
A retreat camp in Kalama Conservancy for 10 participants, built around the programme.
Bucket Ministry Retreats
A retreat camp at Magadi, usually eight VIP tents.
Mobile safari camps
Exclusive camps run year round across Tsavo, Amboseli, Samburu and Laikipia, for intimate groups of 10 up to 40 guests or more. Catering and ground transport can be arranged.
Documentary filming, Turkana
Camp and logistics for a film crew: 70 days on site on the first trip, with shorter returns in the years after.
Biz Baz & The Artisan Makers Market
Upwards of 60 marquees at each market, from 10×10ft gazebos and market stalls to 20×20ft and 30×20ft. For Artisan we also supply tables, chairs, tablecloths and general logistical support.
