Camping with Tarpo
Camps for weddings, schools, festivals and teams
Big or small, we set up wherever your story is happening. Tarpo mobile camps sleep wedding guests, school groups, festival crowds, corporate teams and safari groups. We regularly build camps in Eldoret, Samburu, Laikipia, Turkana, Kajiado, Amboseli and the Chyulu Hills, and travel further when the site calls for it.
We have been running camps in Kenya since the 1980s, with our own equipment and our own crew. Each package is set up and checked before your guests arrive: beds made, lights out ready, and the toilets and showers in order. Most camps use short-drop eco-latrines rather than flush toilets, depending on the site.
Always included: tents, beds, bedding and setup. Quoted separately: transport, labour, power and catering.

FAQs
Mobile camping questions
Can you set up a camp anywhere in Kenya?
Yes. We build camps on private land, conservancies, farms and event venues across Kenya. Transport and labour are quoted once we know your site and distance.
What is included in each package?
Every package includes the tent, beds and bedding, set up before you arrive. Higher tiers add verandah seating, toiletry packs and en-suite toilets and showers — see the comparison above.
Which tents have their own toilet and shower?
Malaika, Kifahari and Kalama are en-suite. Maridadi has its own toilet and shower dedicated to that tent, shared with nobody. School Trip and Bundu share between up to three tents, and Safari between two.
Is there power in the tents?
Malaika, Kifahari and Kalama can take a powered upgrade: bedroom and bathroom lighting, a 3-pin UK socket and a cooling fan. The power source is quoted separately.
How many guests can you camp?
We hold 60 Safari, 34 Maridadi, 10 Malaika, 10 Kifahari and 6 Kalama tents, plus Manyatta tents for larger groups — and have camped up to 300 guests at once.
What kind of toilets are they?
Most camps use short-drop eco-latrines, which are clean, private and well ventilated, with hand wash points. Flush toilets depend on the site and water supply, so tell us what you need and we will say what is possible.
Can we mix packages in one camp?
Yes. Most camps mix tiers — for example Kalama for the hosts, Kifahari for family and Safari for other guests — around a shared mess tent.
